Eddie is built to work on your Mac, not on our servers. There's no account, no analytics and no tracking. This page lists everything Eddie reads and the few things that ever leave your Mac.

What Eddie reads, on your Mac only

• Clipboard. Your last five copies, stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Eddie. Items that password managers mark as concealed are never saved. You can pause or clear the history at any time.
• Notes. The note you type, saved in the same folder.
• Coding agents. If you connect them, events from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI hooks (including the first 300 characters of your prompt and the agent's latest reply, so the notch can show what each session is doing), their session transcripts and logs (for status, token counts and cost), and your running processes and listening ports (for memory, CPU and cleanup).
• Now Playing. The title, artist and artwork of what's playing, so it can be shown beside the notch.
• Activity timing. How many seconds since your last keypress or mouse movement, so Eddie knows when you've been working a while. It never records what you type.

What leaves your Mac

• License checks. Your license key and your Mac's name go to Dodo Payments, our payment provider, when you activate, then again about once a day to confirm the license is still valid.
• Update checks. Eddie asks our website whether a newer version exists. That request carries your IP address and app version like any web request. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
• Connections you set up. If you add a mail account, Eddie connects straight from your Mac to your mail provider over IMAP. It reads only each new message's sender, subject and date, never the body, and never marks anything as read. If you connect Stripe, Dodo Payments or Polar, Eddie calls their API directly with the read-only key you provide. None of this passes through us.

Passwords and API keys are stored in your macOS Keychain.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, who act as merchant of record. They process your payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and order details so we can send your license and support you.

Deleting your data

Everything Eddie stores lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Eddie and your Keychain entries named "Eddie". Delete the app and that folder to remove it all. Disconnecting an agent in Settings removes Eddie's hooks from that agent's configuration. To have your purchase record deleted, email us.
