Eddie for Linux

A notch for Linux. Coming soon.

We’re bringing Eddie to Linux as a GNOME Shell extension: an island at the top center of your screen with your coding agents, clipboard, music and focus timer. It isn’t available yet.

What Eddie on Linux will do.

The same island as on Mac and Windows, at the top center of your GNOME desktop: live status and “needs you” alerts for your coding agents, your last clips, a pomodoro timer with stretch breaks, what’s playing, today’s sales and your machine’s vitals, with Eddie himself living in it.

It’s being built as a GNOME Shell extension, so it fits the top bar instead of floating over it. We’ll publish it once it’s tested on the GNOME versions people actually run.

Need agent alerts on Linux today?

You can get Claude Code to notify you on Linux right now with a hook and notify-send. Our guide walks through it: Claude Code notifications on Linux.

Questions.

When is Eddie for Linux coming out?

Soon, but we don’t have a date. Email us and we’ll tell you the day it’s out.

Which desktops will it support?

GNOME first, as a GNOME Shell extension. Other desktops depend on how many people ask.

Can I use Eddie somewhere today?

Yes, on Mac (macOS 14 Sonoma or later) and Windows (Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit).
